Adding Music

Would you like to add some more interest to you blog by adding music? Follow this tutorial to have people singing along with your blog in no time.

First you will need to decide what music you want, find the URL of it on the internet, and decide if you want the guest to be able to control the music or not. I personally think that letting the guest control the music is the best option becuase it allows them to pause, rewind, fast-forward, or even turn it off if they wish. If you do not let them control it, it will play automatically and can not be stopped (even by you.) If you grant them controls, this will appear on your sidebar wherever you wish with or without a header. Mine, (which is shown in this example,) has the header “Twinkling Stars” to match the space theme of my blog.

Once you have found the URL of the music that you want and have decided if you would like to grant your guests control over the music, continue on by first finding “Meta” on the bottom of your sidebar and clicking on “Site Admin” under that.

Next, click on “Presentation” on the top navigation bar.

Now click on “Theme Editor” on the second navigation bar at the top.

Here is where you can change your blog. You will add the music onto the sidebar, so click on “Sidebar Template”.

Now, scroll down in the giant textbox and click on where you would like to add your music. If you are not giving the controls, then it doesn’t really matter where you put it, but if you are giving the controls, this is the place on your sidbar where the
controls will be. (I put my controls near the top of my blog so the guest can easily find them.)

If you are inserting controls and want a header, (such as if you want it to say “Music” above it or something,) type:

<h2>WHATEVER_U_WANT</h2>

Next, insert the music. If you want to give the controls, type:

If you do not want to give the controls, type:

<bgsound src=”MUSIC_URL_GOES_HERE” loop=100>

And there you go! Check your blog’s front page and your music should start playing, (unless you give controls, and then you will have to press the play button to get it going.)
